How KleeQuiz uses cookies

Version 2026-09-15-beta1. KleeQuiz uses a small number of cookies that are necessary for sign-in, security, and optional remembered-email convenience.

Essential session cookie

KleeQuiz uses the Flask session cookie to keep you signed in during your current browser session, protect account flows, and remember temporary security state such as verification challenges.

Trusted-device cookie

kq_device stores a random device token in your browser. KleeQuiz stores only a hashed version of that token on the server and uses it to recognize a trusted browser for account-security checks. The cookie can remain for up to 90 days unless you sign out of trusted devices or clear browser data.

Remembered-email cookie

kleequiz_email is created only when you choose “Remember my email on this device.” It fills your email address on the sign-in page and is not an authentication cookie.

Payments and external sign-in

When you choose Stripe checkout, Google sign-in, or Apple sign-in, those services may use their own cookies on their websites according to their own policies. KleeQuiz does not use those third-party cookies to track you across unrelated websites.

Your choice

The essential KleeQuiz cookies are required for account sign-in and trusted-device security. If you do not accept the Cookie Policy, you can still read the public policy pages, but you should not create or sign in to an account.
